Certifications

Recreational Sports offers American Red Cross and American Heart Association CPR/First Aid and American Red Cross Aquatic certifications to VCU students and Rec Sports members. Our CPR/First Aid courses are also available to non-member VCU faculty and staff.

Some certifications are free, others have a course fee. Please see our listings, linked at the right.

We currently offer free American Council on Exercise Group Exercise and Personal Fitness Trainer certification preparation courses for VCU students and Rec Sports members only. These courses do NOT include the certification exam, but will prepare participants to take the ACE exams at another time and location. These courses are listed under Instructional Programs.
