The Cary Street Gym is expected to open January 4, 2010 with limited hours and programming. We plan to move to full semester hours on January 16. Grand Opening activities are planned for early February.
Rental lockers will be available to new subscribers. If you are current locker subscriber at Siegel Center, you will be automatically reassigned a locker at Cary Street.

Cary Street Gym Aquatic Center will feature a new type of pool sanitation system fromTMI Salt Pure®. This system gentler on the environment as well as your skin and eyes. When you come to the Aquatic Center, you won’t smell that typical chlorine smell, but the pool will be continually sanitized.
How does salt sanitize a pool?
By producing chlorine from a small amount of salt that is added to the pool water. This process is known as "Electrolytic Generation". Not only is chlorine generated from this process but the chlorine generated then converts back to salt to be used over and over again.
According to the manufacturer, the benefits using this sanitation system are:
• Clean, luxurious therapeutic water that is easy to maintain
• No red eyes or itchy dry skin
• Eliminates the use, handling and storage of "store bought " chlorine
• Inhibits algae growth year round
• Reduces the chance of corrosive water damage on the pools' finish
• Prevents calcium build up
• No residues or by products
• Automates sanitizer production
• Reduced chloramine build up (which gives off the smell of chlorine)
• Environmentally positive
