This year, Rec Sports is offering some great activities and extra incentive programs to keep you active.

Kukuwa Master Dance Class

Get ready to work muscles you didn't realize you had! The energy grabs you and immediately has you moving your arms, waist, hips, and legs to a blend of Latin merengue, African soukous, and Caribbean soca rhythms. LAC(R) is a low impact/high energy choreographed workout designed to target your cardiovascular system, improve your fitness level and pump fun through your veins. It is open to participants at all fitness levels. It is free for all VCU students.

10,000 Steps Challenge

The President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports recommends taking 10,000 steps every day. The average adult only takes about 3,000 steps per day. This self-paced walking incentive program will help you increase your physical fitness. You will get a pedometer and record the number of steps taken each day. Prizes are awarded for specific distances along the way.

Registration: Opens Aug. 20 at any Rec Sports Facility. Registration is ongoing and includes pedometer.
