Recreational Sports — work where you play!
There are over 200 jobs available every year for VCU students on the Monroe Park and MCV Campuses.
There are a lot of great benefits of working for Recreational Sports:
- Convenient — we're right on campus.
- Flexible — you can fit your work schedule around your class schedule every semester.
- Personal development — learn valuable work skills that will transfer into future positions. Many jobs relate directly to your major or an area of interest. You may even discover that recreation or student affairs are attractive professional fields.
- A fun place to work — join in our employee incentive programs, have fun and earn great stuff. Your friends already work here, and if not, you'll soon be making new friends.
- Training — we provide ongoing training in customer service, and First Aid/CPR/AED. We provide opportunities to be certified in various fitness/wellness disciplines, and aquatics.
Primary hiring times are April for the following summer and fall and November for the following spring semester. Positions such as those for seasonal sports officials may be hired at any time before the sport begins. The number of students hired varies from semester to semester due to retention of current employees.
Requirements for Applicants

- Full-time enrolled student status (except fitness instructors, aquatics personnel and instructional programming positions)
- Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal residency
